At 13, Loake’s 641 Brogues ( I didn’t know they made any other model) were the shoes I longed for.  They were sold at Peter Lord, a Clark’s owned chain, among the cornish pasty and sensible schools shoes. They were always out of my price range. Nowadays, as I grown up, I can see that they are not made of the best leather and there are other types of brogues and other makers, but I still love them. The perfect shoe for matching with jeans, when you don’t want a shoe that’s too dainty and the grainy leather compliments your rough , slubby, artisanal Japanese denim.

Classic.
